DETAILED PROGRAM
DAY 1: CUSCO - RAINFOREST LODGE.
We leave from Cusco by our private car, driving through the mountains, to get to the typical folkloric town of Paucartambo. Here we take a short walk around the town before carrying on to Ajanacu, the entrance to the Cultural Zone of Manu Park. From there we continue enjoying since the mountain grass land and do walk in elfin forest to see Grey breasted mountain toucan (Andigena hypoglauca), Scarlet-bellied mountain tanager (Anisognathus igniventris) Later in the afternoon we walk for several hours in cloud forest to visit a complex courtship behavior, performing impressive lek displays of Cock of the Rock national bird of Peru (Rupicola peruviana), quetzal (Pharomachrus mocinno) Trogon (Trogon collaris) Blue Crowned Motmot (Momotus coeruliceps),Gray woolly monkey (Lagothrix cana) and orchids. Later afternoon we will arrive at our private Rainforest Lodge where we will stay overnight.
DAY 2: RAINFOREST LODGE - BONANZA ECOLOGICAL RESERVE.
After breakfast we continue travelling by our private car towards Atalaya Port. On the way we stop to observe a coca plantation and the view point where you can get a spectacular overview of the jungle and the river. From Atalaya we travel by motorized boat along Alto Madre de Dios River towards Aguas Calientes, where we will enjoy bath in the natural hot springs. During the boat trip we will see many different kinds of animals, especially birds Ringed Kingfisher (Megaceryle torquata) Cocoi heron (Ardea cocoi) and a beautiful landscape. In the afternoon the group will do the last jungle walk for several hours later afternoon will visit observation tower we will climb and feel the adrenaline with every step, once you reach the top platform enjoy a breathtaking landscape framed by an endless sea of treetops, from this height we appreciate countless species of macaws like Scarlet Macaw (Ara Macaw) Red and Green Macaw (Ara Chloropterus), Plum-throated cotinga (Cotinga maynana) white throated toucan (Ramphastos tucanus) that are in constant activity, the treetops are also the favorite place of monkeys Squirrel monkeys (Saimiri) that are looking for food and many other species that live at this height of the forest. Soon the darkness arrive we will enjoy an exciting night walk in the middle of the tropical jungle full of life. In deep darkness, surrounded by hundreds of jungles sounds and with the help of powerful lights, you enter a world inhabited by the most unique, diverse and shy creatures. Many animals, especially insects, amphibians and reptiles, hide from predators during the day. Now is the best time to find beautiful tree frogs, shy snakes and other jungle creatures that only come out at night. From noisy night monkey" (Aotus vociferans), giant monkey frog (Phyllomedusa bicolor), Tarantulas (Avicularia avicularia), Wolf spider (Licósidos), Baterfly Buho (Caligo eurilochus). We will stay overnight at our private Lodge.
DAY 3: RESERVE ECOLOGICAL BONANZA - JAGUAR ECO LODGE.
We leave the lodge very early in the morning by boat trip towards Reserve Zone, in our motorized boat along the Alto Madre de Dios River. During the trip, we observe diverse wildlife such as Capybara (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris), beautiful scenery. Late morning, we do our first stop in the Check point, Puesto de Vigilancia Limonal, located halfway to Jaguar Eco Lodge. During the boat trip, we have excellent chances of spotting a wide variety of wildlife, Red Howler monkey (Alouatta seniculus), Squirrel monkeys (Saimiri), Hoatzin (Opisthocomus hoazin), Capuchin monkeys (the gracile capuchins), titi monkey (Callicebinae) Hoatzin (Opisthocomus hoazin), White Caiman (caiman crocodilus), black caiman (melanosuchus niger) and turtles also with some luck, even the famous jaguar (Pantera Onca). In the late afternoon, we arrive at our private Jaguar Eco Lodge, where we will spend overnight.
DAY 4: JAGUAR ECO LODGE.
Very early in the morning breakfast and then we will visit Cocha Salvador Lake in a catamaran to observe wildlife, the famous Giant Otters (Pteronura brasiliensis), Red Howler monkey (Alouatta seniculus), White Fronted Capuchino (cebus albifrons), Squirrel monkeys (Saimiri), Hoatzin (Opisthocomus hoazin), Black Caiman (Melanosuchus niger). Late morning will visit the most interesting Macaw Clay Lick to see scarlet macaw (ara macao) and Red and green Macaw (Ara chloropterus). After lunch, we explore the pristine primary jungle for several hours, we search for more wildlife and learn about jungle life and plants Brasil Nuts Tree (bertholletia excelsa), Ceiba tree (ceiba pentandra). Later evening we will enjoy an exciting night walk in the middle of the tropical jungle full of life. We return to Jaguar Ecolodge Lodge for dinner and spend the night in our beautiful, comfortable lodge.
DAY 5: JAGUAR ECO LODGE - RESERVE ECOLOGICAL BONANZA (Mammal’s clay lick).
We leave Jaguar Eco Lodge very early in the morning by boat river down, with another chance to spot more wildlife Capybara (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris) and maybe the famous jaguars (pantera Onca) along the Manu River. After a short stop at Limonal, we continue upriver to the Bonanza Ecological Reserve. In the afternoon we arrive to Bonanza Ecological Reserve. From here we walk for around one hour to our camouflaged house where we spend the night protected with mosquito nets and you will get the experience of seeing the amazing wildlife behavior from animals such as Tapirs (tapirus terrestris), Red Brocket deers (mazama Americana), Paca Rodents (Cuniculus paca), Amazonian Long-tailed Porcupi (Coendou Longicaudatus) feeding on the natural mineral salts. We spend the night here taking shifts to watch for nocturnal animals.
DAY 6: BONANZA ECOLOGICAL RESERVE - RAINFOREST LODGE.
In the morning we walk back to the lodge from deep in the jungle via a different trail, after breakfast we cross the river by boat to explore another type of forest where we will delve into the forest once again, giving us many chances to spot and see a great variety of birds, monkeys, and exotic plants. After these activities we will start driving river up by boat towards Atalaya along the way we will see more wildlife, families of Capybara (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris) that swim and relax by the river’s banks, the White Caiman (Melanosuchus niger) and sometimes the Red Howler monkey (Alouatta seniculus), Squirrel monkeys (Saimiri), Hoatzin (Opisthocomus hoazin) and many other birds. Here we will take our private bus to Rainforest Lodge where we will spend our last night.
DAY 7: RAINFOREST LODGE - CUSCO.
After a well-deserved rest, we wake up early and beginning our car drive to cloud forest. Along the way, we will take a one-hour walk in the lush cloud forest. After this activity, we continue our journey passing through Cloud Forest and then Dwart forest later to Ajanacu, known as the gateway to Manu. From there, we proceed to the traditional folkloric town of Paucartambo. Finally, we cross the Andean mountains by our private car, enjoying spectacular landscapes along the way, until we arrive in Cusco early afternoon.

What you need to take: VERY IMPORTANT
- Light sleeping bag or blanket
- Insect repellent (minimum 25% DEET)
- Camera with spare batteries (enough for several days)
- Binoculars (10x42 recommended)
- Powerful flashlight with extra batteries
- Macro lens (10–65 mm)
- Telephoto lens (150–400 mm or 600 mm)
- Lens extension (1.4x or 2x)
- Waterproof case or dry bags to protect electronics and valuables
- Sunscreen
